Standard Exam Costs (2025)
Typically, the exam fees are established by DUO and remain consistent across various integration routes:
- Language Exams (Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking): €50 per section
- Knowledge of Dutch Society (KNM): €50
- Orientation on the Dutch Labor Market (ONA): €40
This totals €290 for a complete exam package under the 2013 Act. For those governed by the 2021 Act, the ONA is substituted with the municipality-coordinated MAP module, reducing the DUO exam total to €250.

Comprehending the DUO Loan
- Application Process: Apply for a loan through the Mijn Inburgering portal.
- Coverage: The loan is applicable for courses at accredited institutions (found on zoekinburgerschool.nl) and for exam fees.
- Disbursement: DUO directly pays the school or exam center. Funds are not transferred to your personal account.
- Repayment: Repayment commences 6 months post-completion of your integration process. You have a decade to repay, with interest. Monthly repayments can be adjusted according to your income.
